Is the library available for cross-platform SDKs integrations or just Native SDKs?

Currently Colocator is available for integration in native SDKs, Cordova, Ionic and Xamarin. If you want to integrate the library with another SDK, please contact us.

Can I integrate the library in an Objective-C app?

Yes, the Colocator library can be used within an Objective-C application.

How much time does it take to integrate the library?

The Colocator library integration takes between 3 and 6 hours per platform. We recommend the integration is completed at least 2 weeks prior to the release to allow enough time to test thoroughly and solve any issues that arise.

How can we test that the integration is correct?

Once the library is integrated there are a few specific steps that will check if the integration is correct. The testing process is described in detail here.

Will someone from CrowdConnected help me to test the integration?

The testing process can be done by following the steps described here. If there are issues that arise during testing we can provide additional support.

How do I get access to the console?

We will provide you access to the console and all the information you need to know via email.

Where do I get an App Key?

We will provide you a unique App Key for each app via email.

Can I use the App Key for multiple apps/festivals?

Each app has its own App Key, therefore if you are developing applications for multiple events, we will issue a different key for each of them.

Will the app report location data collected everywhere?

The Colocator SDK collects frequent high accuracy data in areas of interest to the customer and infrequent low accuracy data everywhere else.

Can the library track location only for specific monitoring periods?

Devices’ location and activity will be monitored only during specific monitoring periods and turned off the rest of the time.

Can I use the SDK only for Indoor/Outdoor Location?

Yes, you can use the Colocator SDK only for Indoor/Outdoor, but also for both, depending on your needs. Contact us for more details.

Do I need Bluetooth or Motion permission for only Outdoor Location?

No, for Outdoor location you only need Location permission.

How do I change between Staging and Production?

We handle the Staging - Production switch, depending on the event’s dates. You will use the Staging Console during development and testing and the Production Console during the event.

I can’t see my location on the console after integrating the library. How to fix it?

Firstly, make sure your app has location permission. Then check that you’re integrating and starting the library properly with the right App Key by checking the documentation. Go for a walk with the device outside. If you still can’t see your location on the console, please get in touch with us.

How can I test Push Notifications safely?

You can safely test Push Notifications by following the simple steps mentioned here.

How do I configure the Push Notification Provider?

The required authentication details should be sent to us using any encryption that you think is necessary. You can find the providers and what data is required for each of them here.

Do you have any materials that will help me explain location data usage and policy compliance when I publish the app?

Yes, we provide guidance for publishing your app. You can find more details here.

Is the app battery friendly?

The Colocator library is optimized for the best energy consumption efficiency and has multiple dynamic factors that lead to a balance between the amount of collected data and battery consumption.

You have a REST API, can I send locations there instead of integrating the library?

No. The library doesn’t just collect location data but optimizes data frequency, data quality and battery drain. Therefore the library has to be integrated within the app.

Do you have a tutorial or a demo on how to use the Colocator console?
